sonar 2010.

Sonar2010 any my trip to Barcelona is over but I'm still recovering. So much happened in these 4 days that you  could write a short story about it (with guest appearance of some of my favorite artists) . Just to make a rapid  summery... it  would start from Red Bull Music Academy BBQ in one of BCN's yacht clubs and me wasted getting crazy to Benji B (and others) spinning real good music; Flying Lotus performing as a secret guest at Hyperdub showcase (just after King Midas Sound and before Kode9);  Moodyman making me dance at 4pm after sleepless night; seeing sea (literally) of people getting wild from 2manydjs' stage; shooting Roska (and Bookashade) a their rooftop terrace; experiencing Delorean playing live  with John Talbot his 'Sunshine', getting car back home at 6am together with Uffie, catching Jimi Tenor rehearsing in backstage before his show with Kabu Kabu, hearing Joy Orbison putting my absolut favorite Hyph Mngo in front  of (about) 3k crowd...  and so much more.  Good times, good memories. (so check full report in September issue of PIG magazine!)

Ps. Ah, this short story would end with me falling asleep even before the plane took off from BCN airport.

just balze + alchemist

Last week Just Blaze + Alchemist were playing in Milan and it was FIRE! I couldn't believe what they were doing, every time when I thought it couldn't get any better they put another joint that ruled so much that I couldn't stop nodding my head and smiling as stupid (ups, I used 'couldn't' three times in the same sentence) And then,  towards the end, when they played Mobb Deep and crowd went totally mental... man, you're living for moment like this. I will always listen to rap music. No doubt!

Some more pictures shot by me can be found at Contemporary Standard

currently listening.

From post-D(ubstep) wave (man, these names got complicated) that should make US producers shit their pants, to something that beautiful that I even can't describe it (wow!), to real hip-hop music that has and non-synthetic beat and laid back rap (but who the f*** chose that single feat. Estelle?)  3x3 for  month of May.

Gayngs - Relayted

Guido - Anidea

Reflection Eternal - Revolution Per Minute

PS. Onra's EP is fine too.

Ana gave me this book (thanks!) couple of weeks ago when she came to Milan for Design Week. She was showing prototypes of some pieces she deigned for her own about-to-be-launched line of furniture.

OR-CA is a story of a real road trip she made back in summer 2009 , from Oregon to California, kind of a road trip that I was supposed to make this summer, and which will not happen. At least I have this book. Hahaha! No, for real, it's beautiful. I love everything about it, from photos (of course!) to layout, from choice of paper to an extra c41stamp you get with every copy. Great publication. (Ana, next time we meet I want it signed!)

If you haven't heard of Ana yet you should defo check her page(s), cause she is a  multi-talent. Apart from designing stuff, sometimes she draws, sometimes she takes great pictures + she claims she doesn't suck at sports and what is more she can sing (anything else?!?!) Aaah.. and don't forget to get buy next issue of PIG, where Ana got photographed (together with Iris Humm) by Quentin de Briey. Raaaad!
