E-Girls say good bye to 2008

We can easily say the excitement, the drama, the hype of 2008 is over. We're on the verge of the new economical depression, we're experiencing the New World Order. Move on we're on 2009 now, but we've asked 5 strong, hip, modern and stylish young women from all over the Globe about the passing 12 months. Was it good, bad and what's in the works for the future? To find out go after the jump!

My highlight 2008 was definitely the new Lil' Wayne album. Yeeees, I know that that's kinda played out, but hey... I really love it. I love the attitude, it's cockyness, the swagga. And this said, here comes one thing that annoyed me a bit in 2008: the extensive use of the word "swagga"! Seriously - it existed before and all of a sudden it was everywhere! Everybody was using it on every occasion possible! Swagga this, swagga that. No one in the corner has swagga like us.... No one in the corner had swaaga like Britney. For real! Who would've guessed that the girl would come back like that?! Definitely not me! Homegirl worked out, grew some hair on her head and *boom* was back in business. I love it! Not necessarily her, but definitely the entire story! A guy I grew to love, adore, admire and somewhat desire is Barack Obama. I mean, how could we think of 2008 and not mention HIM. Outragiously good looking, smart, and so far more than trustworthy. It' gotta be: Yes, he can! Other things I loved this year: Givenchy and Balenciaga shoes, Acne shirts, Nudie Jeans, GHD flat iron, the return of the baggy pants for girls, my great new fragrance by genious perfumer Mark Buxton, Mavala nail polish, Digital Gravel, Karma Loop TV, my first trip to Paris, doing real touristy stuff, hosting MTV Designerama, my new tatoo etc. I could go on forever - 2008 was great!
The one thing I'm really looking forward to big time in 2009 is "The Blueprint 3". Jay Z is releasing the 3rd and probably last part of the Blueprint series. I'm really hyped, kids - it's gonna be epic! The EMAs are coming to Berlin in fall. I'm super excited and hope to be really close to the action! I promised myself to got to Eritrea this year, spend less money on unnecessary stuff like more shoes, bags and stuff in general (Givenchy and Balenciaga shoes don't count!). I really want to get some great chairs for my living room, want to deejay and work out more. I want to go Asia or the Caribbean, have a blast at my best friend's wedding, have the biggest birthday party ever and create my own universe with actually not a little but a lot of help from my friends! I guess that's enough, huh?

My 2008 Highlights:
Obama winning the election in the US gave hope to a whole world that things actually can change, for me personally it means that my future kids will grow up in a different world with a president that will look like them, we don't know what the future holds for Obama but only the symbolic value of having a half African/half White president is gigantic and in a way healing.
Attaching this to a art/music/fashion world would could be something like; in 2008 it wasn't about you were from it was about where U were at!
My New Years Resolution would be to keep this positive energy flowing and work over the boarders together with inspiring people even more!

I have two highlights for 2008 and they have a lot in common with each other : they're both black&white, modern, soft and brilliant.
1st Barack Obama, I know I know,I'm stating the obvious but I can't help it! No TV event has ruined my make up that bad since I saw "Titanic" on DVD a few years ago.
I mean come on! Need I say more? It's not entirely about him being black and all it's just "change" man , fu**** change and hope.
I've been in NYC for almost a month now and people are beaming at the mention of the name Obama! Black, White,Asian,Pigeons, everyone !!! Hope makes the world go round.
So 2nd the Married to The Mob dunks... Don't laugh! I'm just a girl who fell in love with a pair of shoes. They made my year, the combination of tweed & patent these ladies seriously know how to design and create the coolest gear. These are the very 1st "haute couture" sneakers, they mean a lot me : a cool trip I took to get them, my long love story with MOB, my overdraft... I guess I'll be a Most Official Pute forever.
My resolutions are to believe that good things can happen to me and that I deserve them, to keep dancing the mambo with my cat, and to master the recipe of pancakes !!! GOD DAMN IT!
HAPPY NEW YEAR y'ALL !!!
